Some Regal Theatres in CA are doing flash-back screenings that include Pulp Fiction & Reservoir Dogs. Rare opportunity to see them on the big screen again if you live close.

Its Tarantino Week over at The Flux. They are reviewing Tarantino movies all week long. They've already got reviews up for Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction - neither of which got very good marks. Go give 'em some hell!

The cover artwork for the Reservoir Dogs PS2 game has been released. I'm glad to see that they stuck with some original poster art and didn't do something silly with it.

15th Anniversary Reservoir Dogs DVD

David DVD is reporting that LionsGate is going to release a 15th anniversary edition of Reservoir Dogs on DVD. Considering we already have a 10th anniversary edition, I'm not sure whey they would do this other than if they think that the upcoming Reservoir Dogs video game is going to be introducing the film to a whole new audience and they want a new DVD ready for them.

Reservoir Dogs Video Game

Its been over a year since I grumbled about the idea of a 2006 release date for the Reservoir Dogs video game, but it now appears likely to be released in the Fall of this year according to Eidos.
According to Eidos, the videogame will provide players with the opportunity to "fill in the blanks" left open by the original motion picture. Eidos states that the game, a third-person shooter which will stay true to the film's original plot and chronology, will follow the progress and planning of the ill-fated heist and will answer questions such as "What happened to Mr. Blue and Mr. Brown?", "Where did Mr. Pink hide the diamonds?", and "What actually happened at the heist?"
IGN has a couple of images from the game up as well. (thanks to Paul for the heads up on this story)

Tarantino As Shakespeare

Eric David has written a long essay on the role of vice in Quentin Tarantino's films. I think alot of the connections he tries to make - particularly the paragraph on the name Bill from Kill Bill - are a real stretch. Still an interesting article though.

Reservoir Dogs Video Game

The long-awaited Reservoir Dogs video game finally has a release date - 2006. Ha! I'll believe this game isn't the vapor ware its been for two years already when I see it on the shelves of Best Buy. Hopefully it does get made, but I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

'The Passion' Inspired By Reservoir Dogs?

So I'm reading a review ripping The Passion of The Christ apart and I run across this little gem:
The real model for this film is Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, with its relentless depiction of torture, along with every slasher movie that cloaks its intentions in a higher message.
Combine that with Roger Ebert calling The Passion:
...the most violent film I have ever seen.
and I'd say the gauntlet has been thrown down for Kill Bill 2 to be bloodier and more violent than the first volume.

Bollywood Remaking Reservoir Dogs

If you didn't know, Bollywood is the equivalent of Hollywood in India. The remake is being titled Kaante, and is actually going to be filmed in New York. And, although its a remake - they aren't staying very true to the original script:
The film begins with a veteran gangster Major (Amitabh) released from prison. Wanting to live the life of riley, Major plans a bank robbery with the help of five accomplices, amongst them Sanjay Dutt, an experienced robber; Mahesh Manjrekar, a druggie bouncer; Sunil Shetty; Mak (Lucky Ali) and an undercover cop-with-attitude, Kumar Gaurav who plans to foil their escapade.

The men assume fake IDs to prevent any risk but Sanjay Dutt’s experienced robber reveals all to his wife (Shilpa Shetty), who has a little plan of her own…

The grand finale arrives with the staging of the robbery, which involves an increasingly desperate shoot-out between the leads who escape to a run down warehouse. The situation only gets worse, when it becomes apparent one of their own has betrayed them…

Tarantino Is Picky About His Blood

The IMDB link to this little tidbit will expire shortly, so I've just copied the info here for you:
Hollywood hero Quentin Tarantino is back - and he's as bloody as ever. The True Romance scribe has finally completed his long-awaited fourth feature film as a director, Kill Bill, which stars Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu, and in the tradition of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, it will be a bloody affair - except this time Quentin's demanding extra-special fluids.

He says, "I'm really particular about the blood, so we're using a mixture depending on the scenes. I say, 'I don't want horror movie blood, alright? I want Samurai blood.' You can't pour this raspberry pancake syrup on a sword and have it look good. You have to have this special kind of blood that you only see in samurai movies."
